The Jump Gate lets you move ships instantly between your own moons without performing a normal flight across the galaxy. It is useful for quickly repositioning a fleet between distant parts of your empire.
How do you perform a jump?
You need at least two moons that you own, and both must have an active Jump Gate. Choose the destination moon and the number of ships to transfer. After confirmation, the selected ships are removed from the origin moon and immediately added to the destination.
How does the cooldown work?
After a jump, both gates enter cooldown. Higher Jump Gate levels reduce the cooldown time. Before another transfer, both the origin and destination gates must be available again.
Exact rules and formulas
A jump requires two of your own moons with active Jump Gates. Supported ships move instantly between the moons, with no flight time and no distance/galaxy restriction in this mechanic. The gate moves ships but does not transfer resources or defenses.
Single-gate cooldown: max(60 s, 3600 s − (level − 1) × 60 s). Both used gates receive a cooldown, so that pair can be reused only when both are ready.
| Level | Cooldown |
|---|---|
| 1 | 60 min |
| 5 | 56 min |
| 10 | 51 min |
| 20 | 41 min |
| 40 | 21 min |
| 60 | 1 min |
In practice the slower gate controls the pair. If one is level 10 (51 min) and the other level 20 (41 min), the same pair becomes available again after about 51 minutes.
FAQ — Jump Gate
Can a Jump Gate transfer resources?
No. The gate transfers selected ships, not resource cargo.
Can I jump to another player’s moon?
No. Both moons must belong to the same player.
Exact cooldown table
| Gate level | Cooldown |
|---|---|
| 1 | 60 min |
| 10 | 51 min |
| 20 | 41 min |
| 30 | 31 min |
| 40 | 21 min |
| 50 | 11 min |
| 60+ | 1 min |
At level 60 the formula reaches its minimum of 60 seconds; further levels cannot reduce the cooldown below one minute.
Example: gate A is level 10 and gate B level 30. After a jump both store the same use time, but A is ready after 51 minutes and B after 31. The same pair therefore needs 51 minutes before another jump. Gate B could, however, be used with another ready gate C after its own 31-minute cooldown.
Does a jump use a fleet slot or fuel?
No. The jump gate does not create a normal fleet mission: ships are directly removed from the source moon and added to the destination moon. It therefore does not consume a normal fleet slot, has no flight time and does not calculate distance-based deuterium consumption.
Every use records the last-use time on both moons. The cooldown belongs to each gate, not only to a particular pair. You also cannot jump to the same moon or to another player’s moon.
