How do alliance applications work and can you cancel one?

When an alliance has recruitment enabled, a player outside the alliance can submit a membership application. The request enters the recruitment flow and requires a decision from someone with the appropriate permissions.

How does it work?

A player cannot belong to two alliances at the same time. The system uses the current state of both player and alliance, including available member capacity and whether recruitment is still open when the application is processed.

What are the requirements?

A pending application can be withdrawn before it is handled. After cancellation it is no longer an active request, so changing your mind later requires starting the process again.

What happens after the action?

Before applying, read the alliance’s public description and confirm recruitment is active. That reduces the chance of applying to a group whose formal recruitment is open but whose organizational expectations do not match what you are looking for.

When is it useful?

The action is resolved inside the active universe. Permissions and membership are checked against the alliance’s current state, so an old open page does not guarantee the operation will still be allowed after a rank, recruitment or membership change.

Common mistakes

Before confirming, verify the alliance, player or role affected by the action. Most mistakes come from acting on a stale view or assuming a permission you had earlier is still valid.
