How does defense repair work after a battle?

After a normal battle, part of the destroyed planetary defense can automatically return. In the current combat logic the standard repair factor is 0.7, meaning that every destroyed defense unit independently has about a 70% chance to be rebuilt.

What does 70% actually mean?

The system does not simply return floor(destroyed × 0.7). Every destroyed unit receives an independent random roll from 1 to 100 and a result up to 70 is repaired. Large stacks usually approach 70%, while small numbers may differ significantly from the average.

Which units can be repaired?

The repair step applies to combat defense units classified in IDs 401–499, including normal planetary guns and shields. Anti-ballistic and interplanetary missiles are not ordinary battle units in this calculation and are not restored through this repair mechanic.

When does repair happen?

The full battle is resolved first, producing survivors and destroyed counts. The game then calculates how many defense units were lost and rolls the repair chance. Repaired units are added back to the planet afterwards and require no new build order or resource payment.

Can repaired defense still create debris?

Yes. The calculation order matters: debris is calculated from destroyed units before the repair stage. A default battle places 30% of lost defense metal and crystal into debris, and some of those destroyed defense units may then return through the 70% repair roll.

Probability example

If 100 launchers are destroyed, the expected repaired amount is around 70, but exactly 70 is not guaranteed. If only one unit is destroyed, the result is binary: it returns with 70% probability or remains permanently lost with 30% probability.

FAQ — defense repair

Is exactly 70% always restored?

No. Seventy percent is the independent chance for each destroyed defense unit.

Do repaired units cost resources?

No. Automatically repaired defense is restored without an additional resource cost.

How should these values be interpreted?

The formulas and limits above describe the current Inter-War logic. Some parameters are universe configuration values, so a balance update can change a number without changing the underlying rule. If the live game panel displays a different configurable value, that value should be treated as authoritative for the current universe. The formulas are useful for planning, while the final settlement and validation are always performed by the server.

What should be checked before using the mechanic?

Check the current account, planet and fleet state, active bonuses and any validation message shown when the action is attempted. Many Inter-War systems combine several layers: requirements, daily limits, free slots, resources and modifiers from technologies, Resorts, Avatar talents or events. Correctly calculating one formula therefore does not automatically guarantee that an action is available; the other conditions are validated independently.
