How do Avatar EXP and talents work?

The Avatar system develops an active character alongside classic buildings and research. An Avatar gains experience, levels up and receives talent points that can be invested in economic, fleet or defensive specialization. Gameplay bonuses are taken from the active Avatar.

How much EXP is needed for a level?

The experience threshold for level L is 100 × L². Examples: 400 EXP for level 2, 900 EXP for level 3 and 10,000 EXP for level 10. A sufficiently large EXP grant can advance multiple levels in one settlement.

What does leveling grant?

Each gained level grants a point to the pool of unspent talent points. Gaining several levels grants the corresponding number of points, which can then be assigned to talents.

What talent specializations exist?

ECO: +3% metal, crystal and deuterium production per talent level, plus -1% building time and -1% research time. FLEET: +3% fleet speed, +3% attack, +2% defense, +2% cargo capacity and +1% fuel efficiency. DEFENSE/MIX: +1% metal/crystal production, +3% defense, +3% defense HP and +2% shield bonus per talent level.

What do upgrades and reset cost?

Increasing one talent level spends 1 unspent talent point. A full reset currently costs 5,000 Dark Matter. Resetting removes assigned talent levels and returns the spent points to the unspent pool.

How does Avatar equipment work?

Equipment slots are head, torso, arm, legs and misc. Items can provide additional bonuses and an item definition may scale them with its bonus multiplier. Equipment complements the talent system rather than replacing Avatar levels.

What can consumable items do?

Supported effects include granting Dark Matter, Avatar EXP, resources or reducing the remaining time of an active queue. The exact effect depends on the particular item.

Which Avatar provides bonuses?

Current gameplay calculations use the active Avatar. Simply owning another Avatar does not automatically stack that character’s talents with the selected one.

Common questions

How much EXP does level 5 require?

The formula 100 × 5² gives a level-5 threshold of 2,500 EXP.

Do I lose talent points after reset?

No. Assigned levels are removed, but the spent points return to the unspent pool.

Do bonuses from all Avatars stack?

No. Active gameplay bonuses are based on the currently selected Avatar.

How should these values be interpreted?

The formulas and limits above describe the current Inter-War logic. Some parameters are universe configuration values, so a balance update can change a number without changing the underlying rule. If the live game panel displays a different configurable value, that value should be treated as authoritative for the current universe. The formulas are useful for planning, while the final settlement and validation are always performed by the server.

What should be checked before using the mechanic?

Check the current account, planet and fleet state, active bonuses and any validation message shown when the action is attempted. Many Inter-War systems combine several layers: requirements, daily limits, free slots, resources and modifiers from technologies, Resorts, Avatar talents or events. Correctly calculating one formula therefore does not automatically guarantee that an action is available; the other conditions are validated independently.
