How does the fusion plant work?

The Fusion Plant is an alternative energy source that consumes deuterium. In Inter-War it requires Deuterium Synthesizer 5 and Energy Technology 3. Level 1 costs 900 metal, 360 crystal and 180 deuterium, and later levels scale with a 1.8 cost factor.

How is energy output calculated?

The base formula is 30 × level × (1 + 0.01 × Energy Technology)^level × resource multiplier. Energy bonuses are applied afterwards. Energy Technology therefore not only unlocks the building but continues to improve its output.

How much deuterium does it consume?

Hourly consumption is 10 × level × 1.1^level × resource multiplier. This amount is subtracted from the planet’s final deuterium balance. At x1, level 5 consumes about 80.5 deuterium/h and level 10 about 259.4/h.

Example of Energy Technology impact

At x1, Fusion Plant 10 with Energy Technology 3 produces about 403 base energy before extra bonuses. With Energy Technology 10 the same plant reaches roughly 778. The research therefore matters increasingly at high plant levels.

When is Fusion Plant useful?

It is useful when fields are limited or when you do not want to rely on large solar-satellite fleets. The extra energy should always be compared with its continuing deuterium cost, especially on planets supporting fleet operations.

FAQ — Fusion Plant

Does it run without deuterium?

The economy calculates its energy and then subtracts the plant’s deuterium usage from final deuterium production, so it can strongly reduce a weak deuterium balance.

Does Energy Technology increase its output?

Yes. It is directly included in the exponential production factor.

Numerical Fusion Plant example

At resource multiplier ×1, a level-10 Fusion Plant consumes about 259.37 deuterium per hour. With Energy Technology 3 it produces roughly 403.18 energy, while Energy Technology 10 raises that to about 778.12 energy before additional energy bonuses. This shows why Energy Technology strongly changes the efficiency of Fusion power. The universe resource multiplier scales both the base fusion output and its deuterium consumption, so the live-universe values should always be considered when comparing options.

How should the values in this FAQ be read?

The formulas and limits above describe the current Inter-War logic in the audited code. Some values are configurable per universe, so an administrator can change a multiplier without changing the underlying mechanic. If the live game panel shows a different configurable value, treat the active universe value as authoritative.

What should be checked in practice?

Before making a decision, check current building and research levels, active bonuses, universe parameters and validation messages. Inter-War often combines several layers: the base formula, server speed, Resorts, Officers, Avatar bonuses, Premium and temporary events. The server always performs the final calculation.
